once you apply for the CLASS IV exams at chennai mmd, after submitting the documents and everything. The admit card will be issued on 2rd monday of the month and you can take it even before the exam but make sure that it is not kept on hold.
Once you recieve your admit card you can appear the exam in the schedule posted by mmd.
Generally the exams schedule will be as :
On 3rd monday of the month
MEK gen - 1000 - 1300
MEK mot - 1400 - 1700
MET 1000 - 1300
Ship Cont - 1400 - 1700
SSEP 1000 - 1200
MEP 1400 - 1700

You can postpone the exam schedule which you applied before the admit cards are issued or if you have a perfect reason to make it.
