DESCRIPTION
An experienced Rotating Equipment Engineer required for a 1 year contract, paying £350-400 per day, with a Large Oil & Gas Operator based in London.
The Rotating Equipment Mechanical Engineer will work in the Onshore Mechanical Engineering Team and be responsible throughout the project lifecycle for the delivery and assurance of the rotating equipment mechanical packages and equipment. This includes Brownfield and Greenfield scope.
Key responsibilities will include:
* Setting technical direction for the design contractor for activities related to Rotating Equipment.
* Reviewing design deliverables including specifications, data sheets and drawings.
* Resolution of technical queries from the Contractor related to RE scope.
* Managing the delivery of RE packages.
* Overseeing the procurement of major equipment packages for rotating equipment including surveillance of manufacturing and test programs and attendance at FATs as required.
* Technically evaluating request for exceptions/deviations to relevant standards and Specifications and advising the Mechanical Lead on technical integrity issues.
* Ensuring quality requirements are embedded in the design and delivery of RE scope.
* Reviewing proposed workscope activities related to Brownfied RE.
* Ensuring mechanical systems are designed, supplied, installed and commissioned to meet first year operational performance criteria.
* Ensuring the Project team works with Operations to identify and capture standardisation opportunities so that life cycle costing considerations are reflected in mechanical equipment definition.
* Acting as primary interface with the Global Rotating Equipment Team and working with them to ensure alignment between project and the team.
* Networking with other shareholder projects and functional experts to facilitate knowledge transfer/lessons learnt and ensuring operability, maintainability and reliability of mechanical equipment.
* Responsible for managing the contractor performance for deliverables related to RE scope.
* Maintaining a clear understanding of planned against actual progress for RE engineering deliverables and intervening where necessary to maintain schedule.
* Incorporating Lessons learned into the project design. Capturing Lessons from the project and feedback into the system.
* Ensuring suppliers and contractors comply with safety policies and standards and ensuring that the necessary requirements of reviews are met during the design process.
* Ensuring the documented close out of specific RE discipline actions relating to HAZOP, LOPA, EDR/PHSSER and PHSSER.
* Contributing to the Project Risk workshops and highlighting risk areas related to RE scope.

* Professionally Qualified Engineer (IMechE or equivalent preferred).
* Knowledge and experience of Front End Engineering Design, Detailed Design and Technical support of Construction and Commissioning for major projects.
* Thorough knowledge of Industry Standards within discipline area.
* Previous work experience related to Design, Procurement and Installation of Electrically Driven Pumps.
* Previous experience related to the technical aspects of Gas Turbine Generators.
* Brown field Projects/or Operations experience.
* Familiar with Engineering Design Work Processes and experience on Projects during Execute phase.
* Previous experience related to reciprocating gas compressors is desirable.
* Previous experience working with a lump sum EPC contractor is desirable.
* International experience within North Africa or the Middle East would be an advantage.
