A significant progress has been achieved over the past century, the technology has moved from the dictaphone to mobile telephony devices, the size of them has been reduced in the size of handheld devices. In advance, the quality and the record duration of the desired audio has been increased due to better materials, faster components and improved techniques of sampling, coding, compressing.
Aim of the project is to design, build and test a Digital Speech Recorder for demonstration purposes and implement it using PCM method. The requirements include illustrating the performance of the Digital Speech Recorder and the effects of applying and adjusting various parameters such as sampling frequency, number of bits
used to represent each sample, quality of the filter.
