If we have small area between stockpile and silo, bucket elevator is the solution. Stockpile is area that we use to store the material at outdoors and silo is reserve material that just we use to process.
Usually ship bring the material like limestone, sand etc to stockpile and the loader bring the material from stockpile to bucket elevator and then bring up to the top silo.
Bucket elevator consist bucket, chain, sprocket, coupling and electric motor. Let's we think picture that I have 10 buckets on vertical left side contain limestone.
The Force:
1 bucket has 1kg, lift it vertically 20m need 15s and gravity force is 10m/s^2
(F – W) x h = [½ x m x V2] + [ m x g x h ]
[ F - (m x g)] x h = [½ x m x V2] + [ m x g x h ]
[F – (1kg x 10m/s^2)] x 20m = [½ x 1kg x 0m/s ] + [ 1kg x 10 m/s^2 x 20 m ]
[F – 10N] x 20m = [ 0 ] + [ 200N.m ]
[F - 10N] x 20m = 200 N.m
F = 20 N
Force F total for 10 buckets = 10 x 20N = 200N
The Power:
Power drive need for lifting 200N for 15s is P = F/t
P = 200N/15s = 13.3N/s = 13.3 Watt
