How to Make Latex Mask - Foam Latex Prosthetic SFX
#HalloweenMakeup #Cosplay #SpecialEffects
This video explains step-by-step how to make foam latex prosthetics.
This chapter explains how to bake foam and latex.
***Baking Tips
Set the temperature to 180 degrees Fahrenheit using a porous mold (plaster mold) for 3-4 hours.
Set the temperature to 135 degrees Fahrenheit (or lower) using a non-porous mold (BJB 1630, 2-part silicone, fiberglass, etc.) for 8 hours. (If the foam piece collapses and condenses, lower the temperature and bake for a longer time.)

HOW TO MAKE A COMPLEX MOLD for Sculpture - Silicone and Hydrostone / Plaster, Handmade Mould
#siliconemold #mold #siliconemold
In this in-depth video, we'll discuss preparing a silicone sculpture by adding a backing plate, final assembly considerations for a watch project, and applying a Krylon clear coat. This video covers silicone use, mix ratios, additives, waiting times, tastings, and tips for achieving a more beautiful mold. This video is part 1 of a 2-part mold-making process. The mother mold will be discussed in part 2.
I decided to take on this project I had planned several years ago. However, I wanted to add a sculptural element to the watch top. Inspired by the Dream Lady sculpture at Chicago's Lincoln Park Zoo, I'll cover the basics of combining this sculpture with Clayton Boyer's Simplicity watch design. I've divided this series into 4 videos: Part 1: Concept/Design and Bracket Design; Part 2: Clay and Modeling; Part 3: Sculpture Casting and Gear Cutting; Part 4: Finishing and Assembly. Thanks for watching!

Mold Making Tutorial: 2 Piece Cut Block Mold
This tutorial will explain the process of pouring and cutting a two-piece mold using platinum silicone. These dividing lines are a bit more complicated than the proper dividing lines for a standing figure. Update! When I took this photo, I used P525. I'm not sure if it's still available. If I have to reshoot, I'll use the slightly harder TC-5130F or TC-5140. Also, Eject-it 33 is no longer available, so I recommend using Zip 301.
As with all mold making, practice makes perfect. Make sure you have a plan before you begin, and test the silicone on the surface of your mold if you're working with an unfamiliar material.

How I Learned to SCULPT a HORSE in Polymer Clay & Mold for Resin Casting (&Overcoming Art Struggles)
#MoldMaking #HorseArt #ClaySculpting
My second adventure is teaching how to sculpt a detailed, realistic horse in clay (this time using Sculpey polymer clay). Then, I made a silicone mold for resin casting, and then created my own model for painting! This horse is 100% handmade with love. There are currently only four limited editions, and I hope to paint them soon. Subscribe to stay updated on my next adventure!

Making A Candle With A Silicone Rubber Mold
This was my first attempt at making candles by casting wax into a silicone rubber mold.
Wax shrinks more than most other casting materials, such as resin or plaster. In addition to small, finished castings, it also loses a lot of detail. Candle designs should take this into account to minimize this problem.
Lessons to Learn:
1. Wax Casting
2. Test the rubber to inhibit curing
3. Mold Construction
4. Prepare the mold area with rubber to prevent air bubbles
5. Seal the mold and install the model
6. Create a funnel to facilitate pouring the rubber
7. Pour the silicone rubber into the mold
8. Remove the rubber from the mold and cut out the mold
9. Install the wick in the candle mold
10. Pour the melted wax into the mold. Allow it to cool for 24 hours
11. Open the mold and remove the candle
12. How to do it? Inspect the casting for imperfections.
13. Fill in air bubbles with a wax marker
14. Admire the perfect lines!
15. Wax is not a good casting material; it shrinks and loses detail.
FAST 2-PART MOLD | How to make a silicone putty mold, how to copy toys and figures
This image shows one way to make a two-part "press mold" from silicone putty. Since each part cures in less than 30 minutes, the mold can be made in about an hour. From this mold, a mold can be made using Apoxie Sculpt, Sculpey, Play-Doh, two-part Epoxy Putty, and more.

- Super Sculpey Medium Polymer Clay (used for sculpting)
- Smooth On Mold Star 15 Slow Silicone (Please note... silicone prices are not controlled. Prices have increased over the years. It's just the brand and type I used in this video and what I have the most experience with. If your budget doesn't allow for this, use a different type or brand. This tutorial works with almost all types and brands of silicone. This is more about the process than the type or brand of silicone. Don't think you can't make a mold because the silicone used is too expensive. Try a different type of silicone that you can afford and have fun! It's always better to learn to use cheaper products and save money on high-quality silicone for your final mold if you want. Do what works for you and on your budget. Smooth On is my favorite brand because it's professional-grade. Not everyone needs or can afford it. That's okay.)
